This One Is for the Neighborhood

An unlikely pair, a non-binary painter and an uptight woman, bond through the power of story, leading them to rediscover the meaning of home and close circles that burden them.

While browsing Craigslist gigs, Ben finds a well-paid, promising ad. When they call, the job seems easy: painting a portrait of an older woman named Doña Vicky. Ever since she moved into her new house, she hasn’t warmed up to it and she expects the painting to help. But Doña Vicky wants Ben to portray not just her likeness, but her essence. After struggling to fulfill her request, Ben will dig deeper to find the real connection to the work, even when the two of them don't seem to have much in common.
