YCP@LALIFF, LALIFF’s student film festival, will feature over 100 films shot and produced by students of the Youth Cinema Project. YCP works in the classrooms of public schools across California, implementing a rigorous filmmaking curriculum that integrates socio-emotional learning and English Language Arts.

The two-day event (June 3rd and 4th) will include student film premieres, panels, Q&As, special events and workshops led by industry professionals.

Warner Bros. Discovery will return to present the YCP Directors Challenge, led this year by Angel Manuel Soto, director of the upcoming “Blue Beetle.”

Sony Pictures Entertainment will present the YCP Writers Roundtable and the YCP Scene Showcase.

There will be special screenings of the anticipated “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse” and the new Amazon Studio’s coming-of-age comedy “Primo” co-created by Shea Serrano and Mike Schura.

The “Primo” screening will be followed by a Q&A and the cast will present the popular YCP LiveReads, a series of live readings of scripts written by YCP students.

United Talent Agency will sponsor selected Youth Cinema Project students from rural communities in northern California and Imperial County to attend the festival and participate in workshops.
