"Brownsville Bred" is a coming of age drama based on a true story and adapted from the award-winning novel and critically acclaimed stageplay of the same name. A spunky Latina must find her own path as she comes of age to face the grim realities of the father she once idolized and the deteriorating neighborhood she calls home.
Elaine Del Valle is a Brownsville, Brooklyn-bred Puerto Rican multi-hyphenate storyteller with a passion for directing. Her festival awards include from SXSW, Urbanworld, Catalyst Stories, and Seriesfest. She is a WarnerMedia 150 Artist, Sundance Writer & Director Lab alumna, and winner of the HBOLatinx short film Director award. Her short films, "Me 3.769" and "Princess Cut", went on to air on HBOmax.
As a writer across mediums, Elaine's off-Broadway stageplay was hailed by The New York Times, "From Girlhood Trials to Onstage Triumph." Her original one-hour procedural drama pilot, "The System", was bought by the CBS network.
