MODERATOR:

Joel Moya, Director of Artists and Label Relations, Remezcla
A&R expert with over ten years of experience building and maintaining strategic relationships to foster new talents and contribute to the music industry’s development. Specialized in the Latin music landscape.

Throughout my career, I’ve grown great devotion to discovering new music and this has allowed me to work alongside the best and brightest artists, pushing their boundaries of creativity to build together opportunities that help them thrive. Often I combine analytics and my strong relationship-building skills to assess and develop editorial initiatives tailored to specific artists’ needs while using my current workspace’s leverage as a platform where their voices and compelling stories can be shared.

As a curator, I’ve collaborated with Apple Music’s curators program and Spotify via Nuevo Noise, a co-developed series spotlighting new and emerging artists from the US, Latin America, and Spain. These partnerships allowed me to jump in the early beginnings of Cuco, Omar Apollo, Myke Towers, Jessie Reyez, and other notable artist’s careers.

I’m highly committed to sharing my knowledge with emerging musicians looking to add value to their careers and provide insightful information that connects them with the path for their success. This interest has given me the amazing opportunity to participate as a speaker at a myriad of festivals all over Latin America and Europe. To mention some of the most relevant: Hermoso Ruido, Monkey Week, BOMM, Corriente, and other conferences around the globe.

Music conferences are a vital component of my learning and growth as a professional. Through these experiences, I’ve been able to keep my mind open for new perspectives, and establish strong ties in the music industry.

While I’m seeking for new opportunities, I’m currently set out to lay the first stones of my projects within the music industry to fulfill my dream of developing and connecting talents in the Caribbean and Latin America.
