The festival will open with ASCO: Without Permission, written and directed by Travis Gutiérrez Senger, executive produced by Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna, and featuring special appearances by Zoe Saldaña and Michael Peña. LALIFF will close with Serious People, co-written and co-directed by Pasqual Gutierrez and Ben Mullinkosson, which is being shown for the first time on the West Coast.
The Latino Film Institute (LFI) proudly unveiled 10 visionary directors selected for the 4th annual LFI Inclusion Fellowship. With support for the fourth consecutive year by the Netflix Fund for Creative Equity, each fellow will receive a $30,000 grant to produce a short film along with individualized mentorship and industry networking opportunities
The Latino Film Institute has set its lineup for the 23rd Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival, which will take place from May 29th through June 2nd at the TCL Chinese Theatres in Hollywood.
The LALIFF Film Market will make its debut with the festival’s 2024 edition, which will take place May 29 to June 2. On offer to sales agents and buyers in attendance will be a catalog of U.S. Latino films in post-production available for acquisition and distribution.
Industry veteran Axel Caballero has been tapped as CEO of the Latino Film Institute, the organization founded by actor and advocate Edward James Olmos.
